How to Identify Mesothelioma Type

Mesothelioma types consist of pleural form, peritoneal form, pericardial form and desmoplastic malignant form. Mesothelioma type has to be identified first before starting of the law suits pertaining to this.

Pleural form often affects the thoracic cavity and some times, the pulmonary tissues get affected by this canerous form. Lung is covered by two layered membranes called as pleura and in between the pleura is the pleural space with pleural fluid.

It can be said that the death is fast in this than the case with pleural mesothelioma. Fever, local abdominal pain, some times enlargement of the abdomen may be encountered in the affected persons.

Pericardial form associates with the accumulation of fluid in the membranes lining the heart. The pericardial type affected persons often experience the chest pain and cough along with the palpitation.

There are many times the organs affected may be outside the thoracic cavity also and the extension of the cancerous form might affect finally the pericardial region and thereby complicating this problem.

Surgery and radiation may help but often death occurs. This may be a caner resulting from the metastasis of the other organs which might have occurred earlier.

The treatment of mesothelioma is only palliative and when metastasis occurs, it is difficult to deal such cases therapeutically.

Desmoplastic mesothelioma type is involved with the occurrence of band like connective or fibrous tissues around the lungs or the chest cavity and prognosis in any mesothelioma type is not favorable.
