Do you know why you have Mesothelioma?

The only known cause of mesothelioma is a large amount of sustained exposure to asbestos. The symptoms of the ailment might not appear for almost 20 to 30 years after asbestos exposure. Therefore it is a very sustained and delayed condition. Contrary to popular ideas, smoking does not cause mesothelioma, but yes, it does increase the probability of you getting the disease. The worst affected by this are the employees in various industries. Asbestos was and still is, used an industrial material. So, during the course of your professional life, have you ever worked in shipyards, refineries, power plants or steel plants? It has also been used in other places like the World Trade Center, and also the Navy shipyards.

Or were you one of those who were serving the country in times of war? Navy veterans who have served in warships or submarines during wars like the Vietnam War or even World War II have been exposed to asbestos which was present in the boiler rooms, engine rooms, and other places. It was used to insulate the lining of the ships’ pipes, and also in car racing suits. For war veterans there are special systems of redressal of such issues. Thus there are adequate support networks which you can turn to, incase you feel that the help that you are getting right now is inadequate.

If you have worked in these types of places without knowing the amount of asbestos exposure that you have been subjected to, then you have all the rights to demand for compensation. It is an atrocity that many owners of such industries were fully aware of the presence of asbestos and its effects on their employees, but kept them in the dark about it. Asbestos related products have continued to be produced by companies even after the harmful effects of asbestos came into public light. Such cruelty transcends not only human but even all limits of bestiality. Throughout history there have been hundreds of lawsuits filed against industrialists as well as asbestos manufacturers for having wrongfully ruined the lives of thousands of people under them, whether intentionally or due to sheer negligence of duty.

Now does it make sense? Do you realize why you were diagnosed with mesothelioma? If you have anything in common with the above places, for a long period of time then you can finally trace the roots of your ailment. More importantly if you feel that you were handed a raw deal by any of your employers in this regard, then don’t hesitate to stand up and expose them.
